The Nintendo Wii game bundle retails for about $259.00, right?

Question: The Nintendo Wii game bundle retails for about $259.00 at the stores near my house, but no body has any right now. The local scalpers want around $400.00. I don't have to have the game before Christmas, I can wait. Do you think that the game will become readily available again, after the Christmas rush is over for the $259.00 price or would you grab one from a scalper right now to be sure? Thanks for your thoughts.

Answer: My personal opinion is that the scalpers are the ones who have created the shortage in the first place! Oh, and "Nintendo" isn't handing out rain checks so you can have something to put under the tree--Gamestop is. If you can wait, go to Gamestop and see if you can get a rain check from them. With these rain checks, you pay the $249 (plus tax) price and they guarantee that you will have a Wii Console by the end of January. No, I definitely would not go to a scalper. There have always been scalpers selling the current "hot" item in high demand and short supply at christmas time, and they die out soon afterwards. This current Wii shortage is reminiscent of similar Christmas shortages of "Cabbage Patch Dolls", "Tickle me Elmo", etc A little patience can save you quite a bit of money.
